Mission Statement

National League of Young Men (NLYM) is a non-profit organization for young men in grades 9-12;

this structured program for mothers and their sons promotes the development of young men

into community leaders through leadership involvement, charitable and community service,

cultural experiences and protocol education.

The La Jolla Chapter was formed in 2014.

Young Men from the La Jolla Chapter of NLYM are actively involved in philanthropy.

Project Mercy – House Building in Tijuana, Mexico

A Senior in the Class of 2018 has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Kiwanis Club of La Jolla for three consecutive years.
Each grant provides the required contribution for materials to Project Mercy, to help build homes for those in need in Tijuana, Mexico.
Ten parent/son teams from our NLYM chapter have taken part in the home build trip each Spring.

Senior Send Off – Class of 2018

Our chapter's second Senior Send-Off Dinner was a great success for the class of 2018.
Mothers and fathers were both invited to the event that celebrated each senior young man
and his accomplishments in NLYM. Tributes were made for all and there wasn’t a dry
eye in the room at the event held at the San Diego Yacht Club. We are all very proud
of these young men and their dedication to NLYM and our community.

Etiquette Dinner - Class of 2019

Our class of 2018 Etiquette Dinner was held at the San Diego Yacht Club.
The young men attended this joint event with the class of 2019 National Charity League young ladies.
Upon arriving, the young men had their photos taken individually, later gathering for an etiquette presentation.
The young men and ladies were assigned partners, and after a brief social time,
partners exchanged corsages and boutonnieres, talked and got to know each other.
